Bombardier TRAXX Locomotives

CBRail currently owns 8 Bombardier built electric locomotives, 3 Class 145 and 5 Class 185. Bombardier has recently redesignated these locomotives as part of the TRAXX family.

The Class 145 is single voltage (15kV) and operates in Germany. With 4.2MW of power, it is capable of 140kmph top speed, and has 2 bogies, each with 2 motor powered axles in 'Bo-Bo' configuration. The Class 185 is very similar to the Class 145, but is capable of operation in Austria as well, and is dual voltage - 15kV and 25kV.

Recent order for Traxx Locomotives

In addition, CBRail has recently announced the order of a further 35 Traxx Locomotives from Bombardier for delivery in late 2007 and 2008, of which 25 will be electric multi system, and 10 will be diesel.  These locomotives have been ordered on a pre-lease basis.

These locomotives are capable of serving the fast growing freight cross border markets, and can be tailored to meet individual customer requirements for traction and safety systems.  Further details are available in the news section.  We welcome enquiries from operators who are considering leasing Traxx locomotives from late 2007 onwards.
