| These locomotives are powerful, developing over 4000HP, and are capable of hauling very heavy loads. They are very reliable, and have the benefit of a large fuel tank and hence capable of travelling long distances before the need to refuel. The locomotives have two bogies, each with 3 powered axles ('Co-Co'). Class 66s are cleared to operater in the UK, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Norway, Sweden and parts of Switzerland, with plans for France and Romania.
